Automatic Addessable Fire Alarm Systems

Ace Fire Services is the authorised Channel Partners for M/s. United Technologies Corporation for their EST & GST range of FAS products & Kidde Fire Suppression Systems.

In a Automatic Addessable Fire Alarm System, each sensing device has been assigned a unique address i.e., a device number and a location text so as to pin point the device that has been activated. The device details of all loops are attached as annexure.

The system comprises Analogue Addressable Multi Sensor, Photo, Thermal, Duct Detectors, Analogue Addressable Manual Call Points, sounder cum Strobe, etc., connected to a Central Monitoring Station referred to as Fire Alarm Control Panel. All devices are interconnected using 2 core 1.5 sq.mm. PVC insulated armoured copper FRLS conductor cable. The Fire Alarm Control Panel forms the heart of the system and receives all activation signals from the Detectors / Manual Call Points and in turn generates an Audio/Visual alarm.

Smoke detectors have been installed at all vantage points of the premises so as to facilitate timely detection of fire. Since the electrical cabling has been carried out above the false ceiling, one set of detectors have been installed in the ceiling void (above false ceiling). These detectors installed above the false ceiling are provided with Response Indicators which will glow in the event of actuation. The Response Indicators are installed on the false ceiling directly below the detector to which it is connected. Thermal detectors are installed in the Cafeteria & Electrical Rooms since these detectors are most ideally suited in these areas.

In the event of a fire alarm signal initiated either automatically by a Smoke/Heat Detector or manually by a Manual Call Point, a signal is transmitted to the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). The FACP in turn will indicate the affected area by means of a Red Zone LED (Light Emitting Diode), a Panel Internal Alarm (Buzzer) and also will activate all the external sounders (Electronic Hooters). Also, the panel display (LCD) will indicate the number of devices in fire alarm status. In this case all actions as detailed in the “ACTION IN CASE OF FIRE ALARM” will have to be taken.

In order to eliminate sabotage/vandalism the system has a built-in feature of repetitive alarm wherein the audio/visual indication will repeat itself in case the fire has not been fully eliminated. Also, the initiating devices (detectors/call points) in all the zones are fully monitored for any disconnection or short circuit i.e., in case the detector is removed from its base or the interconnecting wires are disconnected/snipped, the panel will indicate an “FAULT” condition in the LCD.

All the devices work on 24V DC which is supplied by the FACP. The FACP derives its incoming power supply (230V AC) from a localized power source. This is converted to 24V DC by the panel circuitry and is distributed to all devices connected to it. The FACP is also provided with a stand by battery backup which will automatically takeover the system in the event of a Mains failure. The standby battery backup is of Sealed Maintenance Free type.

Manual Fire Alarm System - Manual fire alarm activation is typically achieved through the use of a pull station or call point, which then sounds the evacuation alarm for the relevant building or zone. Manual fire alarm activation requires human intervention, as distinct from automatic fire alarm activation such as that provided through the use of heat detectors and smoke detectors. It is, however, possible for call points/pull stations to be used in conjunction with automatic detection as part of an overall fire detection and alarm system. Systems in completed buildings tend to be wired in and to include a control panel.

The fire alarm systems are made up of the sensors, detectors and the control unit. The control unit is the brain of the entire system. It receives signals from each of the detectors and sends a signal to the alarm panel. The alarm panel is responsible for ringing various fire alarms throughout your home. They can be audible or visual alarms, depending on what your specific needs are. In addition, these systems are designed to call emergency response agencies immediately after they have been activated.

Benifits of Addressable Fire Alarm Systems

There are numerous benefits that addressable fire alarm system suppliers can provide to the people who live there. It is important that they get these benefits so they can have a safer place to live. These benefits include but are not limited to:

  •   There is an easier way for the fire department to locate the source of fires and get to them faster
  •   They are able to save more money on energy by using sensors that shut off electricity when rooms are empty
  •   Secure wireless communication allows multiple sensors in one location so if one fails, it can be replaced without changing other sensors or the panel
  •   The ability to monitor many sensors from one computer gives you more control over the building and systems
  •   The price is affordable and can save you money since it is less expensive than traditional fire detection systems

Addressable fire alarm systems can be programmed to differentiate between smoke caused by burning food and the type of smoke generated by a serious fire. When the fire department arrives, they can quickly determine where the problem is located and then send firefighters only to that location. This helps prevent unnecessary evacuations and saves valuable time in fighting a fire.

We offer addressable fire alarm systems, which are suitable for residential buildings, hospitals and other such structures. These systems are known for their reliability and efficiency, which helps in improving security in your premises

Working functions of Addressable Fire Alarm Systems

  •   The main objective of addressable fire alarm suppliers is to protect the lives and property of their clients from major fire calamities. An innovative and modern technology for fire detection is now considered as addressable fire alarm system. This system works on a unique mechanism that sets different alarms off when there is smoke or fire in different parts of the building or area.
  •   There are several working functions of addressable fire alarm system suppliers. The first one is to detect fires. This is a core function of these systems and if this is not done correctly, the entire system fails. The second working function is to alert people who are in the building when a fire starts. This is why they call it a "fire alarm system." The third working function is to alert the firefighters who can come and put out the fires.
  •   The demand for addressable fire alarm systems remains very high in the global market, because it is a technology that can be used in any location. The market for addressable fire systems continues to grow and will continue to grow with the technological changes we are seeing today. One thing that will drive the growth of this market is the need for safety and security in our homes and businesses.
